Darlington Championship Show 2010

Darlington Champ show was held at Newby Hall, 17-19 September.

Just a few wins to report, there dont seem to have been that many club members there.

The Kumormai kennel had a very good day, Milo was 1st in JD, Joely 1st in PGB and litter sister Zeta won her OB class then took the CC, Best of Breed and was also short-listed in the group. The week before, Joely proved she could use her brains when she passed her Good Citizen Bronze test at the Mastiff Associations club show. Congratulations Elaine and gang!

Sue also had a day to remember, Kupah won his GD dog class and this gave him the last few points needed for his Junior Warrant. Not only that but her young pup (not sure of his name) was at his first show and he qualified for Crufts with a 2nd in MPD.

More good news from the gundogs, Elizabeths Asher won his LD class and Bronni was 2nd in OB.

Another big day for Benson

At Lothian CA Open show last Saturday, Junes Benson went all the way to the top once again with another Best In Show award. Well done!

Benson was also entered in the Scottish heat of the Kennel Gazette Junior Warrant Competition, which was being held at this show, and he was one of those chosen to go through to the semi-finals at Discover Dogs in November. Good luck for that June, lets hope that Benson will be one of the ten finalists who go on to compete at Crufts 2011.

A win and an award for Benson

Junes Benson is still on top form, three weeks ago he took the UK Newfoundland Clubs award of Top Winning Dog Open Shows and followed that up a week later by winning Limit Dog at the Northern Newfoundland Club champ show.

A good placing for Fran and Diva

Govan Open Obedience Show was held on Saturday 14th, Fran was the only club member who went down to compete.

Tasha had a great time in the ring but missed out on a placing. Diva took it all a little more seriously and managed to get a very worthy 3rd place in Beginners. Competition is always fierce in these well filled classes and any place is well earned. Just 3/4 of a point separated 1st and 3rd place so it was a very close thing!

Well done Fran and fingers crossed for 1st next time.

Another win for Benson

Junes Benson was at the Joint Newfoundland Clubs Champ show at Stoneleigh recently and had a very good day. He won his Limit class, the RCC and then Reserve Best In Show!

Top title two years in a row for Benson

For the second year running Benson was declared the Northern Newfoundland Clubs Open Show Dog Of The Year. He was also Top Winning Black, Champ shows and Open shows.

Another best at Bon Accord for Benson

Bon Accord Kennel Association held their first open show of the year at Thainstone Mart, Inverurie on January 16th. Last year the walk across the car park was made difficult due to icy conditions, this year, thanks to lashing rain, the challenge was to get into the hall without dogs and owners getting soaked to the skin!

Once again Junes Benson took the top spot, his third big win in a row at Bon Accord shows. Last year he was Best Puppy at Thainstone and he also took BIS at the summer show in Seaton Park. Congratulations June and Benson!

There were a number of wins for club members, Ill try and remember them all but please let me know if Ive forgotten any.

Terrier - Cathys Sula won her class and went on to take the terrier group. Karens Ceilidh won her class and G3, Poppy was Best NSC and G4. Caitlins Solo won his minor pup class and puppy group 2.

Pastoral - Jennys Sadie took BOB and then the pastoral group.

Toy - Jills Chico was Best NSC and G2, Sues Rosa won her class and Gypsy was Best Toy Veteran.

Gundog - Sues Finlay and Logan both won their classes and BOB.

Hound - Liz took the whippet BOB and G3 but Ill have to find out which dog it was. Joans Bo was BOB and also G2. Erica and Dougs Willow won her class and BOB.

Utility - Morags Logie added another Best Import to his collection.

Ria won the JH 6-11 yr class, Glenn was 3rd. Caitlin was second in the JH 12-16 yr. There are also adult handling classes at this show and Morag took Best Lady Handler and then Best Overall Adult Handler.
